How to use a loofah sponge for dishes
A simple routine for plant-fiber dishwashing.
1. Wet the fibers
Soak or wet the loofah until the fibers soften. Add your usual dish soap according to its label.
2. Start with a test area
Use light pressure on a small, inconspicuous area. For non-stick coatings, delicate finishes or specialty cookware, follow the manufacturer’s care instructions.
3. Wash, then rinse
Work over food residue without forcing the scrubber. Rinse the dishes and the loofah thoroughly after use.
4. Leave it open to the air
Let water drain away and place the scrubber where air can circulate. Avoid leaving it in a puddle or closed container.
A note on hygiene
Natural fibers are not inherently antibacterial. Keep cleaning tools separate from raw-food cleanup and follow your product’s care instructions.
